Bamburgh Castle

Bamburgh Castle is truly one of Britain’s most iconic landmarks. Standing 150 feet above the Northumberland coastline, with a history as epic and enduring as its vista. Once home to the Anglo Saxon kings of Northumbria, home to a series of monarchs, the first Castle in the world to fall to gunpowder during the Wars of the Roses and a fortress that sparked the imagination of Victorian innovator William George Armstrong.

The Castle remains privately owned by the Armstrong family and is open all year round to visitors with special events and experiences from guided tours with Ragnar the Viking through to the largest indoor Christmas experience in the region.
