Anglo-Saxon Museum and Whisky Distillery in the heart of Northumberland.
Step back in time to the 7th Century and the Northumbrian Royal Court, where the stories and archaeology of the Summer Palace of the Kings and Queens of Northumbria are showcased at Ad Gefrin, Anglo-Saxon Museum. Bring to life their ancient spirit of hospitality and belonging, alongside contemporary crafts, arts, and Northumbrian produce whilst re-awakening the Northumbrian tradition for whisky distilling that has slept for over 200 years.
Here you can not only discover the story of this largely untold period in Northumberland’s history through immersive AV, see ancient artefacts on loan from the British Museum and Shakespeare’s Birthplace Trust and go on a whisky taking tour to re-discover the ancient skill of whisky distilling.
There’s also a bistro and bar serving the best produce on offer in Northumberland and the Scottish Borders, as well as a gift shop where your guests can take a piece of Northumberland home with them.

Ad Gefrin can accommodate drinks receptions, exclusive dining experiences, private dining (up to 25 people), buffet style event (up to 50 people), a business conference (up to 60 people) and a variety of other occasions such as the exclusive hire of the Bistro (once the doors are closed to the public) for a larger gathering of up to 120 guests.
